Booking & Cancellation

How do I book a room at Number Nine?
The easiest way to book is directly on our website. Browse our rooms, choose your dates and reserve in a few minutes. Booking direct always gives you the best rate, with no third-party fees. All stays must be booked in advance; we do not accept walk-ins.
What is your cancellation policy?
All bookings are non-refundable unless Cancel For Any Reason Protection was purchased during checkout. The protection cannot be added after 24 hours from booking, so if your plans are at all uncertain we strongly recommend adding it when you book.
What is Cancel For Any Reason Protection?
It lets you change your plans for any reason at all, with no claim forms, no doctor’s notes and no proof required. It must be purchased during checkout and cannot be added after 24 hours from booking. You can then cancel up to 5 days before check-in and receive a 100% credit or an 80% refund (excluding the cost of the protection itself). If a credit is issued, the reservation must check in within 365 days of the credit issuance. Cancellations within 5 days of check-in are non-refundable and the reservation is non-transferable.
I booked through Airbnb, Vrbo or Booking.com. Which cancellation policy applies?
If you booked through a third-party platform such as Airbnb, Vrbo or Booking.com, the cancellation policy shown on your booking is the policy we abide by. Please refer to your reservation on that platform for the exact terms.
Is there a minimum stay?
Most dates have no minimum stay, though a short minimum can apply on busy weekends or during major Waterford events. Any minimum will be shown automatically when you check your dates.
How far in advance should I book?
As early as you can, especially around Winterval and other Waterford events, as our twelve rooms fill quickly. All stays must be reserved in advance; we do not accept walk-ins under any circumstances.
Can I change or extend my stay?
Get in touch and we’ll do our best to help. Extending depends on availability and is charged at the current nightly rate. You can contact us any time.

Payment

What payment methods do you accept?
We currently accept Visa and Mastercard, processed securely through Revolut when you book direct.VISA
When is payment due?
Payment is taken at the time of booking to confirm your reservation.
Do I need to store a card on file?
Only when Number Nine is the payment processor, which is the case for direct bookings. In that case your card is securely stored by Revolut, the payment gateway we use, rather than by us directly, so we can settle any charges connected to your booking in line with the rental agreement, such as optional add-ons or accidental damage beyond the Damage Waiver. We never see or hold your full card details. If your payment is taken through a third-party platform such as Airbnb, Vrbo or Booking.com, that platform processes the payment, so no card is stored with us.
Is a security deposit required?
We do not take a traditional security deposit. Instead, a Damage Waiver covers up to €500 of accidental damage, so you can relax during your stay. Damage beyond the waiver, or outside its coverage, may be charged per the rental agreement.
Are there extra taxes or fees?
Irish VAT of 13.5% on accommodation is already included in the price you see. Any optional add-ons, such as early check-in, are shown clearly before you pay.
Why book direct?
Booking direct gives you the best available rate, no third-party fees and a direct line to our small team for anything you need.

Arrival & Check-in

What are your check-in and check-out times?
Check-in is from 3:00 PM and check-out is by 12:00 noon.
How does check-in work?
Check-in is keyless and self-service. We email your personal access details before arrival, so you can let yourself in any time after check-in. No front desk, no queue.
Can I check in early or check out late?
Subject to availability, early check-in and late check-out are each charged as a percentage of the pre-tax nightly rate total: 1 hour is 15%, 2 hours is 25%, 3 hours is 35% and 4 hours is 50%, up to a maximum of four hours. Just ask us at least 24 hours before arrival.
Do I need to provide photo ID?
Yes. A valid photo ID for the primary guest is required at the time of booking, in line with Irish accommodation requirements.
What is the minimum age to book?
The primary guest must be at least 18 years old and present for the duration of the stay.

The Hotel

What is Number Nine Boutique Hotel?

Where are you located?
We’re at 9 Merchants Quay, Waterford X91 ENF7, right on the quayside overlooking the River Suir. Reginald’s Tower and the Viking Triangle are a five-minute walk away.
Do the rooms have river views?
Our building sits directly on Merchants Quay overlooking the tidal River Suir, with lovely river views from the front of the building.
Is there parking?
There is a large public pay car park directly across the street on Merchants Quay. It is not managed by the hotel, so parking is at your own arrangement, but it could not be more convenient.
Is WiFi included?

Do you serve breakfast?
We don’t serve breakfast, but you’re spoilt for choice: Waterford has excellent cafés and restaurants within a two-minute walk.
What’s nearby?

What is the maximum occupancy?

During Your Stay

What if something breaks or isn’t working?
Let us know straight away through the guest chat or by phone and we’ll put it right as quickly as we can. Accidental damage is covered up to €500 by the Damage Waiver.

Just yourself and a valid photo ID. We provide fresh linens, towels, toiletries and everything you need for a comfortable stay.
I left something behind. What should I do?
Get in touch as soon as you can and we’ll do our best to track it down and arrange its return. Contact us here.
