Electric car charging in Waterford
Arriving in an EV? Number Nine sits right on Merchants Quay in the heart of Waterford, with public chargers all around it, from on-street points a short walk away to rapid hubs on the main routes. That makes it an easy, low-stress home base for an electric road trip. The nearest charger is about 250 m from the front door, with a 100 kW rapid charger about 400 m away. Charging tips for your stay
- Right in the centre. Several ESB rapid chargers sit along the quays within a short walk or a couple of minutes' drive, so you can top up while you explore the Viking Triangle.
- On the road. Ultra-rapid hubs on the main routes (Applegreen and ESB high-power sites) can add serious range in 20 to 30 minutes for day trips to Tramore, Dungarvan and the Copper Coast.
- Apps & cards. Most public chargers in Ireland work with the ESB, EZO or Applegreen apps, or a contactless card. Download your network's app before you set off.
- Planning a longer route? Apps like PlugShare and ABRP show live charger status and queues across Ireland.
