A quayside address in Ireland's oldest city
Number Nine takes its name from its address: 9 Merchants Quay, on the waterfront of Waterford city. This quay has faced the River Suir for more than a thousand years, since Viking traders first tied their longships along this stretch of river. Reginald's Tower, the Viking Triangle and the Medieval Museum are a five minute stroll from the front door, with the House of Waterford Crystal a few streets beyond.
The house itself is a classic quayside building given a new life as a twelve room boutique hotel. Rooms at the front look out across the river, the city's independent cafés, restaurants and pubs begin around the corner, and Plunkett rail station is ten minutes on foot across the bridge. From here, the Waterford Greenway rolls out 46 kilometres of car free cycling all the way to Dungarvan.

Check-in is from 3:00 PM and check-out is by 12:00 noon. Early check-in and late check-out can be added during booking, subject to availability.
How does check-in work?
Check-in is keyless and self-service. We email your personal access details before arrival, so you can let yourself in any time after 3:00 PM. No front desk, no queue.
Is there parking?
There is a large public pay car park directly across the street on Merchants Quay. It is not managed by the hotel, so parking is at your own arrangement, but it could not be more convenient.
Do you serve breakfast?
We don't serve breakfast, but you're spoilt for choice: Waterford has excellent cafés and restaurants within a two minute walk. Our where to eat guide has the team's favourites.
